Most of the people in the giveaway groups I frequent already have this game so I decided to make this giveaway public -- especially since I've won several public giveaways in the recent past. Even though those have all been contributor giveaways I decided to make this one open to all (though hopefully it ends up in the hands of someone who has contributed or will contribute after winning).

As for the game, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl is an action/survival game set in an alternate world in which a second nuclear disaster has taken place in Chernobyl in 2006. The game itself is set 6 years later, in 2012, in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. As a result of the second disaster, not only has it given rise to radioactive fallout and mutated monstrosities but also "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s": Scavengers, Trespassers, Adventurers, Loners, Killers, Explorers, and Robbers who search for strange artifacts and other valuables within the Zone. The player assumes the identity of one such S.T.A.L.K.E.R. -- who, aside from having been grievously wounded and knocked unconscious, wakes up to discover that he suffers from amnesia and is dubbed the "Marked One" (due to his tattoo) by the black-market trader who saved his life. The gameplay is non-linear and open-ended, features role-playing game elements (e.g. attribute customization as a result of finding and using artifacts, trading, dialogue choices with non-player characters, accepting or declining missions, etc.), and has multiple endings.
