Standard edition without the artbook or soundtrack, but still packed with waifu designs from the team behind Disgaea I suppose?
The gameplay is simplistic and primarily oriented around... well I won't spoil it. Tile-based turn-based combat, but a waifu raising sim at its heart with VN interactions. Can be pretty tough on your first attempts.
Good luck!

Trillion Thanks

Actually it's from the team(s) behind Hyperdimension Neptunia. They have cute designs too. :)
Anyway, thank you very much! :D

Well some of the musical staff worked on Disgaea, and you can really hear it. I didn't know about the Nep staff though!
Still considering buying the HDNep stuff, though I'm waiting for the price for the set to go down further (especially given the first game isn't even canonical with the release of the second one, haha)
Tracking those Hyperdimension games is so tricky with all those mixed names!
Good luck though!

To be fair the neptune games don't really follow each other in a chronological order, but rather each a sort o alternate universe so to speak. Thus one could play one without playing the previous ones.
Also the other person was likely talking devs (it is developed/released by IF/CH), but as I said to them, there's likely ex NIS staff involved.

At this point I'll settle for "The music is spooky good, and the characters are sparkly nice", haha.
I should really look into other games that have this grade of music and designs really, though Trillion really does stand out for having that very familiar sound-feel of Disgaea, and the references to the underworld and its general tone are another close match.
Hell, if you don't win this giveaway I would highly recommend looking on the humble sale if just to sample the small musical offering of this game. The price there might surprise you.

I don't know about "spooky" good, but the Hyperdimension Neptunia series definitely has great music too. ^_^
They are really good and funny games (except Re;Birth2..) so I would highly recommend them (again, except Re;Birth2)! And they are pretty cheap regularly too. :D
On that note, another game by the same companies is Mugen Souls. I haven't personally played Disgaea to confirm that, but a lot of people say it's like a spiritual successor to Disgaea so that one might interest you too. :)

Actually it's likely some former Disgaea devs as a few jumped ship to IF/CH at a certain point, likely leading to the split between them and NIS

Honestly I don't really know their history, so I can't not believe you. ^_^'
(I guess that's why people keep saying that Mugen Souls, also by IF/CH, is like a spiritual successor to Disgaea.)
