When my daughter was 2 years old, we were all loaded up in the car heading to a campground in Towalame (an area just outside Yosemite National Park in California USA). We told her we were leaving for vacation. She said "Good. I want a purple one." She didn't know what a vacation was, but she loved purple :-) We still refer that that as the purple vacation.

Today. Went to the Zoo with my children. The trip was 3 hours long both ways and they were like angels all the time. Although it could be an average Sunday to someone, it was awesome for this family and I think this was our greatest trip. I'm sure it will be history next year since they are still very young and those trips become richer and more exciting year by year.

Ah! Another wonderful parent! :) It is great to hear and know that there are so many loving parents out there, taking their children for vacation, having a great time! I am sure your kids enjoyed themselves! 。◕ ‿ ◕。

Thanks. It's been a long long time since I've had any sort of vacation so I can't really remember any unfortunately.

Thanks. I've only vacationed in China, so China. This is actually one of the few games I really want to win.

When I was about 5, my family drove to Wyoming and while we were driving on a mountain road, a momma bear led her cub up the mountain and then proceeded to fight off a male that was following them. It was about 2 cars in front of us and it's one of the few things I remember from that early in my life. We also got to feed prairie dogs from our hands!

Hey Nick! Thanks for sharing about your experience! ✿◕ ‿ ◕✿
Sounds like you had a lot of fun when you were a young kid! Bears fighting each other must be very....aggressive I guess?
We also got to feed prairie dogs from our hands!
I don't think I have even seen one!

I don't need vacation to have the best times. Every single time with people I like is an awesome time.

i used to take family vacations with my mother and brothers when i was younger we used to go to turkey and i did like it back then but as i started getting older i realized i no longer enjoyed traveling and the fact that my social anxiety got even worse over time didn't exactly help my dislike of traveling.
Comment has been collapsed.
Hmmm...do you feel that your social anxiety is still worsening?

i have gradually felt it getting worse and worse the longer i live and it still does get worse i feel.
there used to be 8 people i could handle and actually liked to be around which are my grandfather my grandmother one of my aunts and one of my cousins my 3 brothers and my mother.
these days there is exactly 4 people i can handle my 3 brothers and my mother and i really hope i never get so bad that i can no longer handle them to because then i would be completely screwed.

For a while, I stopped meeting people. When I started to meet again, I would become more scared than before I stopped. Additional I became more bad tempered and cannot tolerate anything or whatever people say. It gets worse this way :( I sincerely hope you could try to reconnect with those who were close (and not mean) to you previously :)

I remember a vacation in Florida during spring which was quite nice and another summer vacation where I travelled with my family from San Diego to Vancouver. But that was more than 25 years ago. Unfortunately I lost time and motivation to travel during the last couple of years.

Ah! :( Sorry to hear that, hopefully you can find time again in the coming future! :D

24 hours by myself in a cabin in the middle of Alaska. Cut my own firewood and made my own food. No tech, no electricity, just the quiet and a book.

That's sooooooooooooooooooo cool! I would love to experience that myself!

I enjoyed my travel across Scotland by car last year. There are a lot of beautiful places, especially Highlands and the isle of Skye... Amazing!

Best vacation I've ever had... was probably Hawaii with my parents when I was a kid. We got to stay in a gorgeous corner-room hotel, where two of the walls were basically windows overlooking the beach, and of course... it was Hawaii!
Someday, I'll make it back there. That was almost 30 years ago.

We went to Thailand for our honeymoon, including a two day trek through the jungle. Stayed each night at a traditional village. Was fantastic.
Thanks for the give away!

One of the best vacations I had was many years ago. It was in a log cabin in the woods near a volcano in México. I read The Lord of the Rings by the fireplace under the light of the candles. Very atmospheric indeed.
