Since I used to read Star Wars comics when they were still under Dark Horse, I'll go with Dass Jennir from Star Wars Dark Times as my favorite comic book character. He was a lone jedi wandering like a ronin and it all had sort of an Akira Kurosawa vibe to it.

I only read a small number of the Star Wars comics; I spent most of my time in the Extended Universe through the novels. :)
I don't recall Dass from the novels, but his story looks pretty interesting :D
:adds to to-read list: ;)

Star Wars Legacy was good too. I'm sad to see the EU more or less done with.
On the comics end for sure it's over in the form that we knew it. It seems like Marvel is mostly going to do stuff based on the movie characters which is fine but I think they've really been done to death at this point.

Well, Disney/Marvel is definitely dumping all their expectations on 'the new movie series', so I guess it'll depend a lot on how well those are done.

The Shadow... Though he preceded traditional comic books (he was a pulp comic icon, and soon after, radio), he also had comics of his own (even went through a brief costume change during his run under Archie Comics), as well as crossovers.
A few years ago, the property was bought from magazine company Conde Nast by a bunch of Shadow fans, and they started re-releasing the old pulp comics. I haven't kept up with them since, though.

"Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!"
Given that he was the claimed basis for Batman and V (for Vendetta), even ignoring his historical fame, he's definitely left a legacy.
I'd love to see a completely fresh modern Shadow (Rather than "The Shadow Now", which has the same character carried over to the modern era) just for the contrast.
Definitely hard to relate to certain cultural things (or writing styles), in comics that old.

I find there is a certain charm in old things from various media that is pretty hard to find today. I have trouble finding the right words to describe the phenomenon. But yeah, it can be lil bit of a culture shock, sometimes.
I was not aware of The Shadow Now. I'll have to investigate.

Well, just a fully modern revamp taking place in the same era is fine- take the series "Agent Carter", I've found it to be beautifully done.
But, just take a look at the old Spider-Man comics where he's a misogynistic, androcentric jerk to Mary Jane. That wouldn't fly now; [Nevermind Bugs Bunny, Donald Duck, or Superman being racist as hell.]
There's just a lot of things in the past that don't fit in with our expectations now, and for good reason.
That's not to say the old stuff doesn't have its charm outside of that sort of thing;
And if well-handled, like with Agent Carter, it can be just as appealing to modern audiences.
But reading the original work unadultered, can sometimes be.. wince-worthy? :P

Yeah, sorry, I wasn't considering the offensive stuff.
Didn't know Spider-Man was a jerk, though. That's another thing to look into sometime.

Probably not to any degree that was atypical for the time, which probably makes it worth reading just so we don't forget how far we've come; but yeah, I know I've literally, physically winced at some of the older comic clippings.

Hey there! I won this giveaway - I activated the key and it redeemed as Five Nights at Freddy's 2 instead of Mission Control: NanoMech. Not a huge problem, as I didn't own that one, but wanted to let you know.

Seeing as I don't even have a copy of Five Nights at Freddy's 2 to trade.. let me take a look and see what I can figure out.

Ugh. Formatting issue on the page. Looks like someone didn't activate Freddy in a previous trade, I'll have to hunt them down. Fixing the linked key for you.

Redeemed! Thanks! Since I ended up with an extra game, I can return something to you; I have a bundle leftover list if you want to choose something of similar value to Freddy's to provide the other winner. I'm also open to trading bundle leftovers if anything interests you. Let me know and/or send me a friend request on Steam.
