Thank you for giveaway and warning about region restriction!

I'll keep it in mind and activate a VPN program if I would win

Remember, using VPN is cheating for Steam, and they can ban your account.

I'm in the EU, so section 7 and 11 of the product activation agreement does not apply to me. So unless the code was gained illegally, I have nothing to fear

and I'm not from germany, forgot to mention that

Really? We can activate region restricted games legally?

There are only one legally way to to activate region locked game - travel to that region and login to your steam account there.

I wasn't gonna take any chances, was just surprised by that possibility.

it is kind of cheating, but not against the rules for people living in the EU when the game is not restricted in the country (i.e. a game with nazis is forbidden in Germany), haven't read if this is true for other parts of the world

It doesn't matter, where you are. IP substitution - is a cheating for Steam. For any reason. For any region. Anyway.

How Steam could know are you in other country or is your connection in other country?
Comment has been collapsed.
It's how quick your IP changes, for example.

Steam could run when Windows start. So, it is false way cause it could happen when guest user log in or when you using RDP ("Chrome Remote Desktop" or "Teamviewer" for example)

Does it false or not - Steam decides. And you check the user agreement. =)
