You could make all giveaways "Invite Only," then post the link to the first giveaway in a thread. You could also make the first giveaway public with all others being "Invite Only" if you want to give description-readers a higher chance at winning the games.

You can still advertise group-only giveaways in public giveaways; that's a pretty good idea.
