I'd like to recommend you the sci-fi novel series Dune from Frank Herbert. Very detailed and complex storytelling.

I might be able to recommend a video game if you tell me what your favorite genres/subgenres are. For example, I've been singing the praises of Sutte Hakkun on this site for a while since it's one of the few puzzle games I've played in recent memory that has challenging puzzles without continually introducing new mechanics; once you've made it past world 3, you've technically seen everything, but the puzzles keep getting harder though level design alone.

Have fun with that. You'll probably not find much interesting since my music library is just video game soundtracks anyway (except "Last of the Wilds" by Nightwish).

My fav scifi novel series now is The Hyperion Chants quadrilogy by Dan Simmons:

Re-reading now the last one after a looong time due to touching some sensitive subjects to me. But the universe Simmons has created there is one of the very best done I've seen. And I'm a fan of Cordwainer Smith's works!

I'm pretty exited for Lego Bricktales..
just recently stumbled upon it searching for a game where you can freely build with lego bricks and this seems to be that (at least in parts)
