I have the OTHER Alwa game (Alwa's Awakening), and it is a lot of fun. I'm not 100% sure that I would call it a Metroidvania, but that was the reason I got it in the first place and I really enjoyed it so I suppose it doesn't really matter what you call it. I actually forgot there was a sequel (which, as most platformers do, stands on its own and doesn't require playing the previous game to understand the story).
