1924 Winter Olympics in Chamonix, France
I have to say, that is a really cool painting. I just feel sorry for the guys in the bobsled about to be impaled by spears by a giant eagle. :) It's also one of the last olympics bobsleds used 5 people, which you can see in the painting. I think they removed the fifth person in 1930.

France is the only country to have hosted both the Summer and Winter Olympics in the same year. This edition is also recognised as the being the first Winter Olympics.

Ah, yes, I forgot to mentioned it being the first Winter olympics. :)
Germany hosted winter and summer in 1936, USA in 1932, so France is not the only country to have done this.
