The * means that the game was a part of a bundle at some point. What that means is that it caps the contribution value you receive for giving away games. It's capped at $30 + 20% of the value of all the non bundle games you've given away. So if you've given away $50 worth of bundle games and $20 worth of non bundle games, your contribution value would be $54 not $70.

Thanks for the giveaway. I think the star means that the game was part of a bundle at some point so the calculation for how much you have contributed is different. I don't remember exactly but I think you can't have more than a certain percentage of your contributions from bundled games.

People already explained the * thing, it's only important if you are trying to get higher contributor value. If you give away a bunch of bundle stuff, your value will seem to be stuck at $30.00 - someone asks about this every day in the forum... :)

But if you just want to make random strangers happy with a free game, don't worry about it. :)
