FYI, there is no way to tell that a key is good unless you try to activate it on an account that doesn't already have the game. The response you get from SteamDB is that they already own the game and can't use your key.
The "already owns" check is performed first, and that error is reported even if the key has already been used. If you could check key validity before activating, they would have all been brute forced long ago.
If you own the game already you can try to use it on your account and if the key works it'll tell you you already own the game, however this method only works if you already own the game so.

But, if key already used SteamDB bot write DuplicateActivationCode, if not - AlreadyPurchased (bot already owns this)
