My favorite 2D game is Terraria, but it's not a puzzle plat-former... so I would have to say Limbo...

Fez. I didn't like Braid that much. It had some good mechanics that made for interesting puzzles, but some of the puzzles were too hard. I don't like looking up solutions so I kept trying and got frustrated with some of them. Eventually I ended up looking up a few solutions. I was hoping the story would redeem the game, but unfortunately that let me down as well. I understood the story, I just found it a bit boring.
