Avernum 2 is an old school fantasy RPG that's chock full of great writing, worldbuilding, and lore. It's also kind of ugly, but don't let that put you off if you like text-heavy adventure games. You don't need to have played the first game to enjoy this one!

I guess I'm old school (though not actually that old), but yeah, I played my share of campaigns back in the day. D&D to Vampire to Cyberpunk to WW3... The Planescape stuff was my favourite.

Tabletop RPGs are probably my favorite form of RPG. The freedom they give can be really addicting. Unfortunately I don't play as much right now as I'd like to, but I've been playing a lot for a long time. D&D is almost a given since it's what most people play, but my favorites include things like Shadowrun, MechWarrior, and the WoD games.
