What i can advice is be active, on the forum, show yourself, be nice, do events, be helpful where you can or something, and people who notice you and you might get whitelisted also grow more in level, the chances on winning are slowly becoming better at level 4 and even better at 7. (there is a post somewhere on how many members are x level).
And offcourse if you go for big games like Doom eternal with 10000 entries or a game with 500 entries, big difference. ;)

There used to be a good site called tremorgames where you could do tasks to earn coins and with those coins you could buy games, i got like 1000 games a year through it plus games for gifting here and to others. But alas that site went down 2 years ago and there is no proper replacement.
