RU Region, but will activate in at least in North America (Valve re-gifted it for me after I realized it was an RU copy). Only includes Russian language. Do not enter if you are looking for an English copy.
Received this in trade back during the Summer Sale with the understanding it had an English option and was the NA version. Been hoping to win an English copy (was the winner of a recent one, but turned out to be a fake giveaway). Hoping it will go on sale again soon.

Just curious, wouldn't it be possible to mod this Russian version to get a working English language version? (And thanks for your generosity, I learned Russian for an year at high-school, but that was ages ago and I forgot everything. Which is why I'm not entering ;)

I think, by installing LURK or Stalker Complete, you should be able to get English subtitles in-game... at least, I know it worked that way with my version of Stalker.

Installing STALKER Complete 2009 will not provide you with English. As a matter of fact, the game will not open when the mod is installed unless you use the international version (http://tinyurl.com/yaje35o). You need the English version of STALKER to get the complete mod + English. You can attempt to use English files from an English version (see the Steam forum). I tried with no success as the game would crash on start, but others have reported success.
There is a mod that gives English subtitles to the game, but I want the complete English package and I don't want to have to do complete ini and modding to get that. I only should have to do that for older games like Deux Ex GotY.
Either way, I wanted this Russian version to go to someone else who will appreciate it more than I do. Hopefully, I will get the English version eventually.

I certainly do not own international version of Stalker and yet after installing either LURK or Complete 2009 and adding one famous missing file (string table includes.xml - which is always missing in non-english versions of the game) game starts without problems - with that patch, however... I can run it with subtitles in my local language and that's the whole point of its existence.
