Description

Thanks go to GreenManGaming and Fish Eagle for this giveaway, as I obtained it myself in a competition they held. Given the specific type of game it is, please only enter if you have a genuine desire to play it. I'd like to see it go to a good home where it will get plenty of attention - hence why I'm not keeping it to 'try it out' myself.

To make the comments here more interesting, why not enlighten a football heathen like myself why I should like it.

The winner here will be emailed the key to register directly on Steam, so please ensure your email address details are current.

Lords of Football is a whole new sports lifestyle simulator, played in God Mode. The everyday routine of football is brought to life, simulating footballers' training to improve their skills and all the drama and real-life distractions that unfold during a normal season. With easy drag-and-drop navigation and by learning each footballer's personality, you must oversee all your footballers and resources to bring the team up to international competition level. The game takes place in an immersive 3D world with a customisable team, and rewards success with club upgrades to expand this exciting, vibrant football simulation.

Thanks

Shouldn't this be Lords of Soccer??? Maybe it was made outside of the USA or something since soccer is really popular in other parts of the world I guess.

Also does anyone know if there are any choices you can make that aren't heteronormative? Seems like most lifestyle simulators enjoy having fabulous options except, of course, the option to be FABULOUS.

Not really, since football is the global name for the game. It's only a few nations which have their own games sharing the name who do not refer to it as "football", and as a general rule these rarely involve significant use of the feet in conjunction with the ball.

More countries in the world refer to it as "football" than "soccer", and logically naming it so makes much more sense than any of the other codes I can think of who share its name.

For the record, I live in a country where for a good proportion of the population, "football" means "rugby"...

Haha! Football management games got me interested in the real life game too. Used to hate it when I was younger, but got back into the whole football thing after masterminding successive [virtual] league titles for obscure clubs.

Sadly the trajectory of my real-life playing career hasn't been quite as meteoric, but I still enjoy clogging round a muddy pitch on a Saturday. If I ever get a call-up for the mighty All-Whites, the first people I plan to thank in my inaugural speech will be the Collyer brothers :)

Thanks for the awesome giveaway, Thermalions!

Oh yay, I hope I can win this. Sims cross with Football Manager, really interested to see how it is :)

Thanks!

I suppose liking football is like liking any other sport - you just do. I can't understand why people like American Football so much either, but I do love my Curling. So there :)

To be honest, you can't force yourself to play a simulation sports game, especially when you don't really like the sports itself. While playing a non-sim sports game is more open to everyone, simulations really requires you to think a lot about the sport regardless whether this is supposed to be just for fun.

anyhow , appreciate the giveaway. I'm eye-ing for this but maybe I need more discount until I can buy it myself. thanks. :)

Hey, thanks for the giveaway. Been looking at this one for a long time, but it's too pricey for me.

Anyway, football, it has thrills and spills, ups and downs. It has men in shirts and shorts kicking a near-spherical synthetic leather bag of air around some grass and being paid huge sums of money to do so.

Honestly, I can't give you a reason to like football. I enjoy it, but it's completely irrational, overblown, overly commercialised, daft, too-much-moneyed nonsense! My liking it makes no sense in light of what it actually is. I like football for entirely irrational reasons.
