Hi fellow gifters,
I'm the developer of this Breakout game and I'd like to promote it by giving away a limited number of free keys. While I wait to be upgraded to developer status, I'm going to gift the occational key here. No need to thank me, but if you'd like to show appreciation, please help me promote my game by adding it to your Steam wishlist and following me on Twitter, Facebook, itch.io:

Using a more appealing font (and perhaps simply shadow-overlaying it rather than adding that bright blue box behind it) would go a long way to making the game's small-image look more professional. I've had the game wishlisted for a month now, and my first instinct still was just to hide giveaways for the game off the image alone, before I recognized which game it was.
Just a consideration. :)
The game itself looks like a lot of fun, especially for a breakout nut such as myself. ^.^

Can you give me a quick example image of what you mean? I never thought the font was so important to a game.

To the game itself, no. But trashy games dominate Steam, and we at SG see more of those than most; so we've certain expectations when a game has both a low price and a cheap-looking cover graphic. Marketing makes up more of a game than its actual quality of play, so it's important to try and make it come across as professional as possible (especially in a market oversaturated with junk).
You can find sci-fi-styled free-for-commercial-use fonts here: http://www.1001fonts.com/science-fiction-fonts.html (Make sure to check that a specific font has 'Free for Commercial Use' checked off, and to read any included license agreements.)
I've thrown up a few mock-ups for you to consider, using the Neuropol X RG font and a background I whipped up: https://imgur.com/a/Bn1W7 :)

Woah, thank-you. I hear what you're saying. Something to be said about programmer art, hey. You have a good eye for this stuff. I'll have a play around using your ideas. Can I get back to you directly?

I'm on SG daily, so you can feel free to reply here as needed, or you can feel free to add me on Steam for more responsive conversation (though I leave Steam up all the time, but only have time to talk occasionally, so keep that in mind). :)

I've pushed a new set of promotional assets on Steam, please take a look http://store.steampowered.com/app/654600/PowBall_Renaissance/
Hopefully these look a little less tacky? They new art hasn't synched with steamgifts yet though, if ever?
Thanks once again for pointing this out and pushing me to fix it.

It does look a lot better now- everything seems very well considered. :)
I especially like how you changed the rock color to make the text pop, that was a good call (even though I'm totally into the aesthetics of lavender-hued rocks on general principle. ;P) The changes to the placement of the paddle and to the dynamics of the ball both add a lot, as well.
I believe syncing for game graphics is a once-per-day thing, so it should resolve on its own soon; in support of that, I've seen plenty of games update their graphics automatically on SG without issue- ie, Armello updating its art to promote its Bandit Clan DLC, for example. If it does persist for a lengthy amount of time, contacting staff should give you answers and, if necessary, a manual fix.

Haha! I'm pleased you approve. You can appreciate how long it took to get all the elements right.
I had a few more moments of inspiration and made a nice improvement to the explosions. New version will be uploaded soon.
