I admit to being a bit dismayed at the reviews, but that's somewhat to be expected with the anticipation for this game. Thanks a lot for this GA, I still own the Cossacks collection on cdrom:)
to tell the truth I bought this game on steam, didn't like it, refunded. Last week I bought it again, this time on gog and I've been enjoying it a lot more. It kinda grows on you.
I remember nights playing the demo of Cossacks 2 for lack of money to buy it.
Cossacks had me hooked big time in those days... wonder if they could do it again...

The Cossacks series is actually one hidden gem of RTS (at least not even one person around me played it as they got hooked on Warcraft, Age of ____, Heroes etc.
Do you still have a strategy enthusiasts group? I'm trying to create something like that, not exactly focused on GAs, but on getting people to play that kind of games together.
The group still exists, but I empty it after each event, so right now, there's just me in there. I've used it for giveaways of more niche titles, like the AGEOD strategy games and such.
Haven't heard about ageod in ages. I thought they had closed after all that paradox story. Anyway, I actually ended up creating a group to recruit big fans to play together, try some kind of monthly game/subgenre system, share games suggestions and other stuff. You're more than welcomed to join , if you want to.
AGEOD are still going strong. They're getting published by Slitherine these days.
And sure, I would not mind joining. Not sure if I'll play much in MP though, I generally play most strategy games in singleplayer (or on occasion with some real life friends)
