Did you know earwax is actually a type of sweat? It’s produced by special sweat glands in your ear canal to help protect and clean your ears. Instead of being all watery like regular sweat, earwax is thick and sticky, trapping dirt and germs before they can get inside. So next time you clean your ears, just remember: that wax is your ear’s own personal sweat!
people with wet earwax tend to have smellier armpit sweat because of a gene called ABCC11. This gene affects both earwax and sweat, and it produces compounds that get broken down into smelly substances by bacteria.

You forgot the semi-common asian mutation of "dry earwax". It's uncomfortable, doesn't get out naturally and might also obstruct your outer ear channel. That's why you see in some mangas or animes a female character cleaning the ears of another (usually male) character who rest their head on her lap sideways. That act means taking care of that person, in a broader sense than just cleaning the ears.
