The original Final Fantasy for the NES (I don't really consider Legend of Zelda to be an RPG, though I do consider The Adventure of Link to be an RPG) For PC, it would probably have to be Diablo
The golden age of RPG's for me is definitely during the SNES saga. There were just SO many incredible RPG's being made at that time. Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Earthbound, Super Mario RPG are a few of my favorites :D
