In Milan, Italy, a locomotive once got routed onto a decomissioned track and had to conduct an emergency stop that left it mere feet from a cliff's edge. Local witnesses were so disappointed by this anticlimax that they worked together to push the engine car over the cliff themselves.
Lol, can't blame them. I know I would be disappointed if the train managed to stop that close to a cliff edge :'D
