Sometime's my dad gives me a ride somewhere close and I walk it from there. Most of the time I use buses to get there. On my way back if it's too late and there's a lot of traffic, I hop on a train and take the bus afterwards :D

Ich habe 10 Jahre in Hamburg gewohnt und kein eigenes Auto gebraucht. Bus, U-Bahn und S-Bahn haben mich überall hingebracht. Leihwagen und Car-Sharing hab ich aber auch genutzt.
Nun lebe ich in North Carolina, USA und das Auto ist ein Muss.

I'm part of the train people. Too many cars around here as it is and you can't do anything while being stuck in traffic for 2 hours to make a trip that would take 30 mn in the middle of the night when all other cars are resting in their suburbs. Train is much faster, more reliable, cheaper, and you can relax, play games, read or just catch up on some extra work instead of wasting your time waiting for the queue of cars in front of you to mooooooooove, dammit!:!
