I love RPGs as well. I've been a fan of them since my C64 days. There were actually a lot of really good ones! I still enjoy playing them on a C64 emulator.:)

RPGs are just so good for getting lost in a different world, they're wonderful!
Could you recommend any games to try?
Other than Ultima IV, haha!

For the C64 or PC (as I have played RPGs on the PC as well, as far back as the AD&D Gold Box games)?

I'm heading off to bed now, so I'll probably not be able to reply until I get home from work!

With me horror games are something I look back after playing with fondness, but while I'm playing them I feel so stressed out and due to my anxiety problems this has caused me not to be able to play any for some time now.

Wow, that's so many types of games!!
I really appreciate the effort you put into your reply, so detailed. :)

I'm not sure where to start with my reply, haha.
I haven't ever heard of some of the games you listed!
If you'd like to get into more rhythm games I'd suggest looking into the Rhythm Paradise series, or a game called Deemo, they're very good.

I prefer RPGs and games that are replayable or have a new game plus kind of system perhaps. So many great now hybrids that got me interested in other genres too, but I like almost every various type. Second favorite specific type would probably be Open World for me, especially bigger games with lots to explore. Strategy kinds are usually my least favorite, since they take me a really long time to figure out.

Sometimes it just depends on my mood. I do like many ARPGs and JRPGs in particular overall if I were splitting hairs, but things with a stat mechanics or leveling system I generally like. If I can collect and hoard stuff for whatever reason, even better, or if I have a lot of free choice in the game overall. Games under Square(soft) in the 90's really blew my mind though. Final Fantasy has a few I'd have to put very high in an all-time kind of list though, but there were a lot of good ones I played and many I missed out on around that time that solidified RPG as my favorite game type.

Wow, I love the detail you put into your reply!
I think when it comes to RPG's replayability is key, you want so much stuff to do you'll miss a few things the first time around I think.

Glad you enjoyed it. It's a tough question with me, since I like a little of almost everything, and there are great games in a lot of genres that could skew my opinion on things if I had not delved further in to try others. RPGs just kinda stand the test of time for me, and I usually enjoy almost any game type with some RPG structure put in. Usually does add a bit of depth and fun for me if I can customize a bit more.

Yeah, as far as missing stuff, I like having a regular run on them if possible, then try some spoiler stuff afterwards. NG+ is set up near perfect for that on many games! Chrono Trigger for me was I think the first one with a true new game plus style... and it was groundbreaking and mindblowing getting all the endings and extras! Loved the mini-games they had back then on a lot of Square games. Still see 'em here and there, but they are less prominent and in depth many times (a little before or around the time they merged with Enix). In all fairness, I think their games are improving, but I disliked what happened to some of the series games that were around before the merger thing.

That reminds me! I just finished Fable: Anniversary, and I think I won it from somebody on here, so I'll drop a message there about how the game was.

I love interactive movie games, or games with story: Life Is Strange, Walking Dead, Metro, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Deus Ex, etc.
Also love games with open world, like Fallout.
