I'm a little confused with this one, when I created the giveaway it showed ** which meant I wont be getting any cv from this, however users still have to spend points to enter? I thought the ones you get no cv on will be 0p to enter. Maybe someone can explain. Thanks.
Points are tied to the cost of the game (in US dollars), rather than to the CV you get from the giveaway. So yes, they're still required to enter giveaways for no-CV games.

I see. What about games that are 0p to enter, does that mean you could basically get them for free right now from the steam page but someone still has a key for it somehow?

Also games that aren't reported by the Steam API are shown as 0P. For example those that aren't sold on Steam. Like the game isn't out yet but you have a key already, or the game was removed/purchase disabled.
