I don't know anything about this game, but every time a GA for it crops up, everyone mentions how promising it looked. That leads me to wonder, if community response to the game was so positive (assuming SG is a sample demographic of the steam community itself), why didn't the dev hand it to another developer they trusted instead of discontinuing it entirely? Such a thing is definitely not unheard of, and has led to positive results in the past iirc.
