The base game was featured in the THQ humble bundle a while back. Most of the people on my friends list got it, those that didn't are no longer active on Steam. I also know that a lot of my friends' friends that didn't already have it got it in the humble bundle. I realize that some people may have missed out on the bundle but even at base price the dlc is worth more than the actual game which to me is a bit odd...

That's up to the creator, who has voiced his opinion on the thread. Looking at your profile, I'd pay a bit more attention to your own giveaways before telling other people what they should be doing with theirs...
