I had a look through my friend invites in my friends list and didn't see you there, but now when I check your profile I see an 'Accept Friend Request' button, so I've now accepted it.
Now I think I see what happened. Your name is Gus on Steam and for some reason your avatar was different on the friends invite list compared to your Steam profile, so it was difficult to recognise which person you were. I've never seen that happen before.
