The problem about a site where site management actively supports bigotry is that the dignified elements of the community drift off, while the site becomes known as a haven for the spiteful. I'd recommend saving your explanations for those who are actually confused- replying to the actively toxic individuals whose only motivation for interaction is in desiring to tear you down with their hate, irrationality, and disdain for logic- that's not going to do anything but stress you, and feed their baseless sense of victory, as they flood to support one another with the majority in numbers they have on this site [I've marked roughly 800 such users on this site thus far].
Well, at the least, allow me to make a point of thanking you for standing up as the lonely voice of reason amidst the cacophony of madness.
I'm going to break from the forums at this point, perhaps from the site as a whole. If you're agreeable to chatting through Steam, I'd be honored at the opportunity- I'm quite keen for the chance at conversations which don't leave my brain feeling like it has melted and my stomach feeling like it wants to void itself in disgust.
I definitely understand. I tend not to visit the forums here much anymore for precisely that reason; there's just too much toxicity, and the staff is more interested in maintaining the status quo than in cultivating a welcoming community...honestly, it makes me reluctant to create GAs. I still want to get rid of the spare bundle keys I have, but I'm not interested in buying games to give away here anymore (at least for public giveaways; I don't mind group GAs).
Well, I'm lucky in that there's other communities I'm a part of which are much more supportive. Normally I just stay out of discussions like those, but something about that thread seemed to set me off.
