i have not watched actual tv since 2014 (when i say tv im not counting tv shows on netflix)
13 years for me. You get to the point where you wonder how you ever watched something as disorganized and irritating as non-streaming television. :X
I know some people that still like using normal TV for background noise, but that's just a weird concept to me.
Certainly a silly reason to get an expensive cable subscription :P
Either way, normal Television services are woefully outdated, and, like many media services, doesn't seem to be making any major attempts at adapting to progress.
Technically, I believe you can buy a TIVO or the like for that functionality [basically, as soon as you first pause, it starts recording, thus faking a dynamic pause/play structure], but that still doesn't give you near the overall freedoms that streaming does.
Add in how dramatically cheaper streaming is, and even the fact that most streaming providers still need a lot of improvements themselves doesn't meaningfully impair how much superior they are to cable.
And, y'know..
Not like you can't hook up a computer to a TV screen, so it's not like you're losing out there, either.
got free Netflix + fiber, i don't see why i should need anything else, and things i can't get on Netflix i...download from 100% legit sources...trust me on that...

I haven't owned a tv in over a decade. I did use to have a tv card in my old computer though. nowdays I have the internet which is even better
