If you head east, you can catch the U2 at the Bülowstrasse Station. Heading West, you'll come across the U2 at Nollendorfplatz.
There are a ton of little shops here. An antique Store, two convenience stores, a couple bars, Doner Kabab stands and shops, a russian grocery store, and more. There is also a bar, that doesn't look like it's ever doing much. The only people you see going in and out look like scantily clad ladies. You might be where you think you are. One of those districts. How would I know? I lived here. What's funny is, even though I lived there, they kept trying though I kept saying no. One of them finally decided we could be friends instead of constantly trying to take me for a walk. It was an interesting experience to get to know someone like that. I had to run the gauntlet every night, but after awhile, they finally just said Hi and realized I wasn't there for services. Though occasionally someone new would arrive and try again. They'd only try two or three times though, because eventually the ones who knew me would warn her off. I honestly think they just wondered what my type was. What made it funnier was often I'd be walking with my German girlfriend and they'd still try. Fortunately, she wasn't worried about it. My roommate, however, partook and then freaked out and had a test done. Yes, he was a moron. Unprotected.
North of here on Zietenstraße is a lovely little Ethiopian Restaurant that we visited many times. Primarily because we lived across the street from it. Whenever we had people help us with moving things, or otherwise, we'd take them there. It was really good food, that you got to eat with your hands. They also had awesome fruit beers that they served in shells that had been hollowed out and sealed. Honestly it was a great little place and one of the things I miss a lot.
Living in Schöneberg was interesting to say the least. Sometimes we'd see Marathons on Bülowstrasse. Sometimes running, sometimes biking. It was part of the route.
Did you want to try to access my apartment? You must first deal with a clown that approaches you wielding a puzzle! Yes, I know.... WTF

German girlfriend? Are you still with her? Sorry if it's too private, thought I'm gonna ask since you mentioned her and I'm curious if she came to the US with you or how the story went on..
