Playing TW:E taught me more about geography than 10 years of school did. Sad, but true :E

I learned so much about history and geography from games.. (like knowing that random city name from a country far away :D). I honestly don't know why nobody talks about this, it is really an amazing learning tool

Exactly! Maybe though, conquering the world with millions of virtual bodies in your wake is´nt the best received incentive in some peoples minds :D

On the other hand, maybe it will be enough for you to do it just in-game since you get to know how tedious it can be sometimes to manage so many cities and units etc. :D

You´ve been there aswell heh? :p
Waging war against France, Spain and Russia at the same time (as INDIA), one turn easily going into the 3 hours .... iirc that made me stop playing TW for a few weeks altogether.

Which strategy gamer wasn't?
Also there is the real world simulation feature that if you give the cities/armies to a governor or general, they can screw things up in a way you never would. Usually after a full game of Civ, TW or EU I need a break (sometimes I take even months! Partly also because I know how time consuming will the next conquest be) - and you cant take a break like that as a leader of a nation irl

It is. Transport Tycoon teaches you name of hundreds of small german towns not even germans know that well, for one :<
