When I was growing up, Terminator 2 was always on TV for New Years Eve for some reason. Maybe before midnight, maybe after but there it was, year after year. Maybe it still is but i don't watch TV anymore. I guess i will check later, for old times sake.

Me too. I was about 12 when I watched it for the first time. In my experience all action TV movies were kinda cheesy and a little lame. And then Terminator 2 came with great plot, awesome action, moving plot twists.

WoW, I was 12 the year this movie was released and perhaps I saw It with 13 yesrs.
It was one of those movies (like Matrix, at least for me) that changed the perception of the world and marked an after and before.

I only got to watch this way later. But yes, it's a great movie. The movie that had this effect for me was The Matrix, just like @kbronct said. It opened my mind and made me curious for other movies that went deeper with their stories

Heh, I also have memories of not-particularly-kid-friendly movies while growing up, Most years, we'd go for a weekend or so to a nearby town and stay in a small hotel. Just my mom, my bother and me. And Robo Cop would be there without fail.
