Heyo all.
Hope y'all been doing swell, I am once again doing a celebratory key dump!
I am once again able to visit my family in the US of A, with the possibility of moving my residency application over to the US side rather than in my home country :D
Anywhoo these are exciting times for me and I hope to share some good vibes with y'all.
I hope there's something that you'd like and as usual, Good Luck 07

Good luck with the move! I've moved to another country myself (Although only a bordering country, so not super far), but it can be a daunting task!

Thanks! Yes it is pretty daunting but I'm very fortunate in that I already have family there and that I am continuing to work for the same companies, so won't be needing to immediately search for work.
The packing and cramming anything I'd like to do before I leave in the last 2 months or so has been hectic though xD

Yeah, having a job already helps a lot, and I can only imagine having some familiar faces there helps a lot as well. Is it primarily because of family you're moving?

Definitely helps!
There's a large myriad of reasons but the core is that my home country (South Africa) is not doing so well at all. I do alright (I mean I'm able to afford to emigrate, I'm very well aware of how blessed I am) but I know that the way things are heading I won't even want to have a family, let alone be able to afford one.
The US ain't perfect by a long but the issues they currently have are very far removed from what happens here. And again, it helps greatly that I have friends and family that side.

All very valid reasons. I can't imagine being forced to "flee" my country due to the state it's in, I can only imagine it's not a fun situation to be in. I was "forced" to move abroad myself for a year due to Denmarks strict immigration laws (My wife is from Russia). I know it doesn't compare, but I think it somewhat helps me understand people in situations like yours.
In any case, good luck with the move. I hope it'll all turn out fantastic.

I Appreciate the sentiment, fortunately it is still a very exciting time for me, even if the core reason for leaving is kinda sad.
I love my home country and I seriously wish that there comes a time where I consider moving back thinking "Damn, we were wrong, look how they turned it around" but for now it's the right call.
Thanks again, all the best :D
