I discovered Starset "recently" (more like a year or 2/3 ago) and they're doninating my playlist since. I'm a fan of rock and sci-fi/space, and they combine it.

Reminds me bit of this, mixing Rock and electronic Music, also great stuff.
Celldweller - Blind Lead the Blind

I assume you've listened to Celldweller's Frozen, then? :)
In the line of more off-beat fusion bands, how about Beast in Black? They can get pretty Synthy (ie, synth-metal) at times, though they're primarily power metal.

I don't think i have a specific music genre that i consistently get back to, but my tastes often circle. I guess the most common ones i get back to are videogame OSTs though

There truly is some fantastic videogame music, like Gerudo Valley - Zelda Ocarina of Time

Better late than never, my current favourite game music track:

It has a long intro and gets to its theme slowly, you could skip the first two minutes maybe.

Very atmospheric, very nice, no skip needed. Thank you for sharing! :)

I have to admit i think i still listen sometimes to two recommendations i got from steamgifts recommendations - Meg Myers (though she went bit too insane for my taste now :P) and Lizzy McAlpine. Yes.
