You can search fot the game at the Community Wishlist, which has a column which neatly displays the number of GAs for that game; or peek at the Archive to see exactly when the game was given in the past.
That archive is kinda great. There's been times I get a game free on another service and I don't want to be airheaded and still enter on here. But when I'd search for giveaways to hide, there were no giveaways open. But for the entries on this archive that are public giveaways, I can finally hide some games like that.

Just an FYI that while that was definitely the only way to go about hiding games in the past, ever since cg added interaction icons to the top-center of giveaway description pages, you can just create a private giveaway for the game yourself and hide it that way. Still faster, easier, and less bothersome to do it through archive, but definitely an option if there haven't been any public giveaways for it yet.
(Figured that might perhaps still be useful info to someone, even if you yourself happened to already be aware of that. ^.^)
P.S. for Thexder's comment: Community Wishlist can be found under "Giveaways" on the top navigation bar, while the link to Archive is on the far left of the bottom navigation bar.
Also of note from the bottom toolbar: Stats, which gives various statistical details on the site, its users, and giveaways, and the bottom of the Roles page, which lists suspension durations (though those details are also accessible from any profile, by clicking the link next to "Role:" (typically "Member") at the top of those pages).
This giveaway thread has been surprisingly informative. This was right in front of my face but I don't scroll down far enough to see it most of the time haha. Thanks, regardless.
