Heavy Rain is the only one I've played so far, but that one was far from pretentious. Just a very well done interactive suspense movie.
It's not really a "game" in the traditional sense, so I could see people complaining about that, but definitely not pretentious. Very straightforward. I don't know about this one, but I'm hoping to find out :-)
