If the gifter really is from Korea, is there any chance this key will not be massively region locked?
I know you're not in charge of SG but you're my SGpedia so I thought I'd ask :D

Depends. Russia and Belarus are excluded in any case, but the store sub (and one other - albeit retired - base-game-only sub) doesn't exclude anything else. So if they bought a key internationally, it might be almost unrestricted. But since there's also heavily restricted subs, including one base-game-only sub that is restricted to SEA/Oceania, it is pretty likely going to be restricted when being bought from Korea.

And in case they're going to gift it on Steam, at least Switzerland and Poland and maybe Qatar and Israel are currently outside the max. +10% rule when gifting from Korea plus the explicitly excluded Russia and Belarus.

I tend to shy away from gifting region locked games because I'm always worried about the outcome and I'm not sure if I'll be able to wrap my brain around the complexities of it all. Migraine confirmed.

Unfortunately, since the giveaway itself is not restricted, the most likely outcome will be, that the first winner can't activate it and mods won't allow a reroll and the giveaway will be deleted. So let's rather hope that it's genuinely unrestricted and someone deserving wins it. ^^
