The Brothers Karamazov has some good stuff in it, but it's popularity surprises me given that it's an incomplete series. I think perhaps it rides on the success of Dostoyevski's other works.

I'd say this novel is more intense, with more charismatic Mephistopheles-type characters and other entertaining features (like detective storyline), but then again I barely remember it. My favorite is "Idiot" anyway
