Thanks!
My biggest kitchen fail actually wasn't cooking. It was probably the time I forgot a burner was still hot and set my plastic tray down on it while I was getting my food. Poor melted tray has never been the same since lol

Made split pea soup. Recipe was for two cloves of garlic. I actually added two whole bulbs of garlic. It was very strong.

You a closet vampire, fren'?
I always do that, though maybe not to the extremes of two bulbs,
generally I stop at one whole instead of two cloves (;
Becuz garlic is bloody expensive in my hellhole of a "country"...

Haha good question. I once managed to forget a pot of water boiling on the gas hob, and when I ran back to the kitchen the pot was completely dry and all blackened. I also managed to burn a kitchen towel on an electric hob. I'm sure there were bigger fails, but can't remember atm :D

Once I tried a new recipe and the result wasn't great. But I had to eat it for four days, since it was such a huge amount I cooked.

I once used a can of beans as a rolling pin. It did not work well.

Thanks for the give away!

thank you very much for the chance, my biggest kitchen fail was trying to make beef stew.... I made hot burnt garbage and stubbornly ate it... It was gross.

I tried making dough for pretzels and it didn't rise at all, still went on to bake it. One burnt batch and one tough and doughy pretzel later I threw it all out and made pancakes instead >:C

Thanks!

I made some macaroons with a friend from scratch, we bought a coconut and broke it apart, spent ages getting all the coconut out and in the end we'd gotten the temperature wrong because the recipe was in Fahrenheit and not Celsius. They ended up incredibly burnt :/

My second attempt went well though, they came out perfect :)

Humm... I generally make a point of eating everything I make to prove to my friend it's actually edible and having I grown used to "disposing" of stuff that, for example went sour with age or came out horribland - taste or texture-wise, I'm pretty jaded in this regard.

I seem to be at odds with stuff that incorporates more than trace amounts of flour in them; they either end up a starchy mess of half-burnt, half-raw dough, or some spongy pancake-like entities bubbling with infernal energies and way too oily, with uniformly savory tasting stuffings mixed in to a bland-textured perfection ;p

I tried cleaning an appliance of limescale by boiling water with some solvents in it, coming to investigate found a scene of all the ~2litres of stuff having evacuated through the bottom of said appliance. Mysteriously, it got better and regained sealing Oo

Probably the two times I managed to spill almost all my pasta into the (not very clean) sink while trying to drain it.

There's also that time I made one-pot-pasta and ended up with too much liquid. I tried soaking some bread in it and it turned out absolutely disgusting. Bread and a starchy sauce do NOT mix well!

I put ramen in the microwave without pouring water in. It burned.

I made ginger ale in a 5L bottle. And when I lift it to filter the ginger and bottle the ale into smaller tare, the handle broke and the ginger was scattered across the whole kitchen... even on the ceiling.

Ah, many thanks for the giveaway and the win ^-^

And my biggest kitchen fail was when I was making my first pavlova and forgot to add in flour, resulting in me being very confused for several hours as to why it was just a glorified pancake
