Maybe some profiling research leads local law enforcement to believe there is an overlap between certain driving styles and certain other criminal behaviors - not that it applies in most cases but in enough to make "random" stop and searches, in some people's minds?

eh it was probably the trailer hitch and time of night if he was patrolling for a thief that didn't want his or her vehicle identified by streetside cameras

psychologister one able to get into the minds of others (often by assumption and shitty methods as profiling ahaha)nah, he only mentioned the hitch after it was proven that i was a resident and not a burglar, as if to say "shoot, i got (relatively) nothing on this guy - OH AND BTW, your hitch?..."
