I couldn't comment in your thread before you closed it, so I'll tell you here: some traders add an impersonator warning to their avatar, usually specifying their Steam level and number of owned games; while anyone could copy your avatar, copying those two would be almost impossible.
Can you give me an example of what you are saying? I just wrote a warning on my steam profile but I am pretty sure that won't be enough to aware other people of being scammed.
Something written directly in your avatar, like this user did: https://www.steamtrades.com/user/76561198105197441 By the way, the guy I linked above just posted a warning on his activity feed, to warn others about the same scammer.
You will notice that, as your rep keeps getting higher and higher, you will get more impersonators.
The new setup of Steam Trades should make things more difficult for impersonators, although they usually target the less informed people, so it will probably just make things easier for those who wouldn't fall for them anyway.

I just did a quick and dirty attempt of it.
I hope that in the next few days he gets banned or change its profile.
