Recent plays:

  • Gladiator Guild Manager - An idle-style gladiator guild management game where you get to recruit various gladiators for your team, manage and develop your guild's base, and of course, equip your gladiators with the best gear. Lots of classes to unlock and events to respond to, in which your decisions will affect the reputation you gain or lose from the faction/s involved (there are 3 total factions here). Full gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JA5TlTTwe6c&list=PLu-THx6SwAB4E48DQi77ybqUJ2H_empKD

  • Kainga: Seeds of Civilization - Managed to finally get that boardwalk arena built and hosted the arena after these two runs - took me awhile to figure out that the objective here isn't to eliminate your enemies like a typical RTS but to get that arena hosted. That said, it would be nice if there's a sandbox or non-combat mode where us players could just enjoy building and expanding without the hassle of having to defend the village from the occasional raids. It's a very promising early access look though! Will definitely keep an eye on this. Unlocked almost everything: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGT9JaVwaNg&list=PLu-THx6SwAB5kiTRxvacRMNSeLQpnCa27

  • Megaquarium - An aquarium tycoon game with an interesting gameplay involving the synergistic and antagonistic interactions between various sea creatures. Makes for a very strategic game, especially if you want to create a tank with multiple species of fish and other sea creatures. Has a sandbox mode too. First 3 levels: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bF0W3d_yZI0&list=PLu-THx6SwAB4NimtfS5vUANzx4EcLXyG0

  • Before We Leave - A fairly challenging colony management game/village builder. If you're great at optimizing production lines, then you'll probably do well here. Planet 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnxNz_Ytz_Q (I already have footage of Planet 2 but I've noticed that the gameplay can be fairly boring to watch so I'm not sure if I should upload it)

  • Terminus - A pretty hardcore zombie survival game where to goal is to reach the safe haven known as Terminus, except in this one, it has a turn-based gameplay. You can't really go rambo on the zombies in this game lest you get an injury that you can't just bandage up and I personally think that the game's designed around being stealthy, which is surprisingly hard to do here - zombies can "hear" you in this game and sometimes, - and I have no idea why- they somehow know where I am even though I'm huddled in a corner away from windows doing non-noise-producing activities. The hunger meter goes down wayyy too quickly as well IMHO and most of the time, you're just trying to find enough food to get by. I did a few runs here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvE6AcfjGeY

  • King Under the Mountain - If you're into games like Dwarf Fortress and Rimworld, you might enjoy this one. That said, it took me wayyy too long to realize that building my base into the mountains is the only way to go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-axy96gzDN4

  • Disciples: Liberation - Game's a bit like a simpler (or maybe even a mobile) version of Dragon Age. After awhile, the gameplay - I'm referring to mainly the combat - does get a bit monotonous. Still, I greatly enjoy playing turn-based games and this is a pretty solid game. Spent some time on the video thumbnail 😉: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lK_FHP9iMY&list=PLu-THx6SwAB7EnMyHz09PAszr_MS8NHSy

  • The Legend of Tianding - Incredible controls and metroidvania-styled (keep your eyes peeled for secrets!) gameplay, complete with gorgeous hand-drawn art and a Taiwanese folklore-based storyline. Truly can't recommend this game enough! That said, I should warn you that I suck at using the controllers so even on easy mode, there are plenty of #fail moments. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPEcK849Xlw&list=PLu-THx6SwAB49keq9fV_87vY6KgwpNO3i

  • Rob Riches - An easy enough puzzle game that has a fair bit of Sokoban in it. Comes with several Worlds, each with their unique set of challenges. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GT7Xfnbzas0

  • Interplanetary Gardener - I like the concept of the game - you play as a gardener drone and your goal is to get rid of weeds on various alien planets, while making sure to avoid dangerous weather, and deposit them in the composter. However, in addition to being fairly grindy to play, there are some issues with the game, like having thunderstorms spawned right behind you, or having a minimap that doesn't really help you locate the composter = spending ages rolling around trying to find one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mwYUqQoWxk

  • Word Forward - Played a lot of word games on my phone so this kind of gameplay isn't very unique IMHO, but I quite like the variety of tools you're given to complete each level. This game is also a example of a rare case where the PC version costs the same as its mobile counterpart. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqarxZy90lA

  • One Line Coloring - A simple puzzle game with nice low-poly art where you connect the nodes with lines, while making sure none of the lines overlap, so you can fill in the colours. There are 8 diorama with a total of 308 puzzles to solve, which isn't too shabby considering the discounted price of $1.99 IMHO. Recommended for people looking for a relaxing puzzle game to play: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mr9hE4f9Q0M

  • Fights in Tight Places - One of the most impressive deckbuilding roguelikes/lites that I've played in a while! It features the type of cool animations and minimalistic art style present in Superhot while offering a solid deckbuilding roguelike experience, with a forgiving albeit limited Rollback feature, that's not too easy or too hard. Plus, you get to play as a badass secret agent... what's not to love! :) Leaving the best (last level) for last: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdR28eMv3cQ&list=PLu-THx6SwAB4Z_XwSf7RO7YTmWfUWJAlb

  • Prison Simulator - A bit repetitive in some places but I reckon once you've leveled up enough and unlocked more "prison guard duties", the game would be a lot more varied and fun. Still, I'm pleasantly surprised with the gameplay here. It's pretty solid, though the jury's still out on the realism part. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VBrkYDRV78

  • Conway: Disappearance at Dahlia View - Not really a fan of the sometimes awkward camera angles, but I get how it plays into the gameplay. That said, I love the story here and the solid photography feature, but unfortunately, it seems like the game still has some game-breaking bugs. Stuck at the piano pin part and wishing that I don't have to restart the whole story since it seems like the game only has one save file (and it looks like it's corrupted thanks to the bug). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoDBDYCK6DQ
