What? More giveaways? Madness!

Yeah actually I don't know what I'm doing. I'm supposed to translate the abstract from hungarian to english but I am so bored with it dang it. Got halfway through though. And I have the most terrible headache, the really sneaky type that is not that strong but it does not go away whatever I do. So doing giveaways chills me from that translating and is also something that takes my mind away from the pain.

This time I am gifting the last remnant, which I actually have no experience with, so I guess it is supposed to be good? haha who knows. Will the winner play this game? I'd like to think that they would. it is made by square after all, who brought us several good jRPG-s in the past.

This time, do share what is, in your oppinion, the greatest rpg game in the world! I used to say FFVII as a nobrainer response to these kind of questions, but I actually replayed it some time ago and it does not hold up that well. So.. Chrono Trigger it is! haha

Thank you for the giveway ^^ Good luck with your translating.

As for me, since it introduced me to the world of RPGs and I still love it, I'm obligated to say Pokemon. At least as a person favorite.

Thanks, I'm done with it:) ah I actually played Pokemon on my phone a few years ago and it was really fun, especially how I could play in small doses and still always had a clear goal on what to do next whenever I picked it up:) (Golden Sun 2 in the other hand.......)

Nothing beats the Eye of the Beholder. Well, maybe Eye of the Beholder 2 does.

The only JRPGs that I would play again are the ones without random encounters or that have a way to reduce the frequency of them. The Tales series for example.

I played ff7 many times and in my opinion it aged pretty well. Looking forward to the remake.

I found a lot of the actual game mechanics as a chore, would like to see a remake as well, hopefully with some rethought design choices!:)

Not 'A' remake. I was talking about 'THE' remake: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_VII_(remake)

Persona 3 is the best if you ask me, I'd recommend the psp version since it gives you full control over your party, which the other versions don't do. The story is just great, it helped me getting out of a depressed period.

I would say the Realms of Arkania series (The Dark Eye), but might be mostly because of nostalgic reasons.

I remember Chrono Trigger being fantastic, but it has been years since I played it...

I attempted FF7 a year or two ago and dropped it due to tedious battle mechanics and just general boredom. It's not that I don't like FF games, since I played mostly through FF5 and FF6 and liked them both.

Anyway, to actually answer the question, perhaps Dark Souls 1 or Deux Ex 1. You're probably looking for something like a J-RPG, but depending on how you're defining RPG, those count too.

Reminds me of the nostalgic games I used to play for the ps1 at my friend's house. Sweet, thanks!

Greatest RPG in the world? hmm... Kotor 2. The depth of the narrative, fun (but kind of easy) combat, and replayability set it in it's own dimension.

I haven't played any of the final fantasy games in years. I tried 13(?) a little while ago, but it was way to... cinematic for me.

whoah kotor 2... hmm I should really get into that, new SW movie coming up and whatnot. Did finish kotor 1 when it came out on the original xbox, but I really dont remember much of the story haha but I do know I wielded dual lightsabers because that looked cool.

I'm definitely looking through rose tinted glasses, that game blew my mind as a kid haha. I played it pretty recently and it holds up.. they actually just released an update for it (widescreen/1080p/achievements/steamcloud).

dual lightsabers are the shit haha

I'd go with Secret of Evermore, it's pretty fun and kinda unique compared to other RPGs I've played.

I been forcing my way through FFVII recently, this game is pretty awful, It didn't age well at all. Please, don't get me started on this game, my blood pressure is high enough already.

I liked FFVI, which is a pretty good game despite how broke it is, FFIX I did like, it was a pretty fun game, never did get around to beating it.

I can't honestly decide and it may be nostalgia speaking, but it is a toss-up between Dragon Quest VIII, Hillsfar, Treasures of the Savage Frontier, and Chrono Trigger.
