Actually, it looks like the Plat Ed is the Deluxe Ed with 2 additional DLCs, so making a GA for Deluxe while giving Plat should be fine (and on the contrary, the reverse isn't true)

The issue isn't the content inside, but that the app ID the key is tied to isn't including the "Deluxe Edition". So if someone is making a giveaway with SGtools and put on the security measure that all wins must've been activated by the entrant, then this will result in a false negative. Since despite receiving everything (and more) from the key, the app ID "Deluxe Edition" will be missing from the account which is replaced by "Platinum Edition".

So while the giveaway creator isn't doing anything wrong (because he IS giving everything as (lack of better word) advertised and more), the winner has to potentially deal with this false negative if they decide to join SGTools protected giveaways.

Hm, I'm not very familiar with SteamDB but it seems to me that both bundles feature AppID 289070, which is the Civ6 base game, and AppID 521770, which is the Digital Deluxe Extras DLC.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask a mod to be sure 👀

You can't predict what is reported by Steam via API, as it's developers that decide about it. Like some DLCs are reported, some are not.

But in this case it should be fine as Steam reports that base game and Deluxe preorder content was activated.

Even people who won proper Deluxe Edition before don't have "Deluxe Edition" appID reported on their account. Only "Digital Deluxe Pre-Order" :D I won Alien Isolation Collection here and Steam reports only base game for some reason.

Platinum Edition is not reported at all, as it's bundle. Those are not in SG database and not synced via API with us.

Hi thank you for the game, but you have specified Sid Meier's Civilization VI-Digital Deluxe and I have activated Sid Meier's Civilization VI: Platinum Edition in the library, as people write in the comments that they have different subids and if I click confirm then I will be banned, I do not know what to do.

Hey,

I checked what is reported as activated for other people that won Digital Deluxe edition here, and you activated the same content:

Sid Meier’s Civilization® VI
Sid Meier's Civilization® VI - Digital Deluxe Pre-Order

Steam often does not report appID / subID of the thing you actually won. Only it's content / main game appID. Say I won Alien: Isolation Collection some time ago which has subID of 79549. Only thing reported by Steam is base game with appID of 214490. And it's fine, nothing is flagged.

I will double check it with other mods but it should not be an issue.

No, not for activating a legit giveaway :)

The only issue (as mentioned by other commenters herein) with a third-party site called SGTools.
Which some use for their giveaways (but not much, I think), and only if they activate the rule of "unactivated wins"
But this is never an issue with SteamGifts itself.

I don't think this will be an real issue anyways, since this rule is quite pointless with all the false positive hits with missing/wrong AppIDs.
