What are the rules on entering giveaways for game+DLC (example: Magicka Collection or Dungeon Defenders Complete), DLC packs (example: Season Passes) or game+game (example: Franchise or Company packs or PWYW bundles) when you already own some of the content in the pack?

The most pressing example of this would be Titan Quest Gold, where the only way to get the DLC on Steam is to activate Gold, but I'm just looking for a general ruling.

As it stands I've been using SG+ to filter out any packs I already own at least something from, but if it's within the rules to still enter such giveaways I'd like to know. And if owning anything from a pack does bar entry, this is my request to have the FAQ amended to reflect this. Thanks guys, gals and in-between!

SIDE NOTE: I have two Killing Floor guest passes. The first two respondents that want a pass AND post a constructive response to my question (+1's and posts only to request a pass don't count) will have them activated to their account. All else will be harassed roundly :)

You may enter those packs for the DLC if the owner doesn't say otherwise

I had a similar question about this too, for Crysis 2 maximum edition. Apparently it's not against the rules, however as DonVino said some giveaway hosts (?) may prevent you from winning if they find you own parts of the bundle. So unless it says otherwise on the giveaway you should be fine to enter :)

It's up to the creator if the giveaway. Even if they don't specify in the description, if they want a new winner because the first winner owns the majority of a bundle, it will be granted.

Hi, look at me, correcting a Support-person :D

Anyways, here goes: If the winner already owns anything from a giveaway, a request from the creator to reroll the giveaway will be fulfilled.

That's what I've been told before, and that's how it should be and how I hope it still is. After all, the rules say to not enter for a game you own.

The re-roll option states "Majority of bundle exists in their account", I'm just repeating what it says. But it's really a judgement call. What defines "majority"? Owning Dungeon Defenders and no DLC, you wouldn't own a "majority" of the Dungeon Defenders Collection, dollar wise. But a re-roll would be granted if the user wants it.

Thanks for the responses. The answer is as I expected, but I didn't want to assume. I'm still calling for an FAQ amendment, however :)
