Getting hacked is a lot different from getting scammed.

He kinda hacked himself by downloading some random .exe app and actually running it on his computer afterwards.

And I really don't get how that app could have changed his e-mail password.

It's not change my email password...only change my steam's email address and steam account's password

Did you even read some of the answers in this topic from OP ? He obviously doesn't know much about scams ... So it's not about being an idiot ... You are good at being a butthole though.

How did that pop-out came from steamtrades btw?

He was likely linked by a phisher to a fake steamtrades profile/thread that told him to log in to view/add the person.

He mistyped the URL and went to steamtrade.com, which is a fake site.

I probably get at least one dipshit adding me randomly every day and then sending me a phishing link "Hey my friend tried to add you but cant, go here and add him". Block and report. Block and report. It always says the same thing. I've stopped accepting random adds almost entirely, but if I have a hot trade thread I sometimes will still do it, but I never click links from these fuckers.

Anyway, what you experienced is something new that Ive never heard of, and I'm thankful to you for sharing it.

That said, contact Steam support. I've never had it happen so I can't tell from first-hand experience, but I have heard Valve will get your things back for you one time only. Back during winter sale one of my friends who I trade with all the time got a similar msg to the one I described above and lost like 200 keys and probably 50 gifts. Valve got it all back for him. All hope isn't lost yet. It may take a little while to get a response, but you may end up okay in the end.

Sure, he shouldn't have downloaded it, and hopefully he learned the internet is as dangerous as it is majestic, but at least show him some empathy! May the power of Talos aid you in your attempt to retrieve back your belongings, Themadness94.

Well, considering that "SteamGuard" is a real and legitimate thing, I can totally see how "steamguard.exe" popup could fool someone :/
I hope you'll be able to get your stuff back, OP!

I guess that "Nothing is true. Everything is permitted." is a pretty solid rule to keep in mind while surfing the internet! :D

This. Proving that you are indeed actually yourself typically does the trick, it's in their best interest to assist you. Customer service is used to dealing with the occasional scam situation in today's business world.

Phisers are tricky, so don't feel dumb. Instead of that make sure that next time you will be more cautious. When Call of Duty Black Ops 1 came out, my computer was too weak to run it even on minimum, so I tried to find some tweaks, and then I found a YT video, which said that a program will make the game run better, AND it needed my Steam account name and password. Yeah I was dumb too, and then Avast! said, that it couldn't block an outgoing connection. The next day, I couldn't log into my Steam account, so obviously it was hijacked. Fortunately I bought many games in retail, so I had enough proof, that I really owned the account. If you have a retail copy, just write your Steam username on the back of the manual, where the key is printed, and upload it as proof. 2-3 days later, I got a mail from Steam, that I got my account back. Fortunately the guy just wanted to play Call of Duty Black Ops, so I only got +40 hours, and fortunately no VAC ban.

I've used top AV products, but none of them is making your computer 100% safe.
This month I've found a great software "second opinion scanner", download it from here http://www.surfright.nl/en/downloads/. During instalation go to options/license and enter imaginary e-mail, you'll have a fully operational product for 1 month.
I've used it many times and every time it works like a charm, it uses several different engines for scanning, additionally it utilizes the cloud to minimize your cpu utilization.Scan your PC with it

Scan with the software I wrote earlier.

If that doesn't help, there's last simple task - uninstall/install all browsers if all are affected.
