First was Earth and Beyond, it was the first game I pre-ordered too. Played the EnB Emulator quite a bit two years ago too and it was getting real close to being like the original again.
I'd have to say my favourite is GW2 though, just barely edging out EnB. I also played EVE quite a bit and liked it a lot, but it just didn't have the same charm as GW2 or EnB.

Runescape was my first MMO, and was my favorite for the longest time. Even if I play other MMOs now, I'll always consider Runescape to have the best quests in any MMO I've played. Runescape quests aren't like your typical "Kill x, collect y" MMO quests, and they were amazing because of that. So many of the quests had great stories too, with great characters. I'll never forget how accomplished I felt when I defeated the Green Dragon Elvarg. I'll never forget how genuinely hurt I felt when Zanik tried to kill me. I'll never forget how heartbroken I was when Hazelmere was murdered. I'll never forget how much I laughed when I spoke with Evil Dave about how I saved him in the "past". I've never felt anything even close to any of those in any of the quests in any other MMO I've played.
Honestly, I think the only reason I stopped playing Runescape is because I played the game for so long. Any game will grow old after a decade of playing.

The issue is that the f2p version is essentially a demo. The content size of p2p against f2p runescape is at least 10:1, though I would guess it's closer to 15-20:1. That's 15-20 times the content with p2p than you get with f2p. Yet they advertise as a free game. It's for this reason that I quit Runescape.

I would certainly hope the P2P section would dominate the F2P section in size, since that's kind of the point of it. They give you a pretty decent sized little free game, while saying "If you enjoyed this portion of the game, you can pay whatever amount(I don't remember how much the monthly is anymore) and get access to 10x more!". Hell, since they added the Bonds a couple years ago you can even play the P2P portion of the game without spending real money.

Indeed the quests were great (though i was still in the beginning of the game). The quests and the music are it's high points for me.
I liked the Ernest the chicken quest. The fact that I still remember that must mean it left an impression on me :)
Too bad the rest of the game was so ultimately boring. Chopping trees, mining, smithing, fishing,... it's like they made it boring on purpose. So weird to see all my friends at the time enjoy it while I usually am the one who plays boring games.

I found the skill grinding to be quite relaxing personally. The most important thing for me to enjoy an MMO is my friends. I always had great fun just relaxing with fishing or woodcutting and chatting away with all of my friends. I think another reason I stopped playing is that pretty much all of my friends from way back when had moved on to other games, and I found myself alone most of the time.
Edit: Also, with the music, this will probably always be one of the most memorable video game musics for me.

There was a little known full fledged MMO on the Playstation 2 called Everquest Online Adventures (oft abbreviated as EQOA) that I played from it's release for about three years until I jumped over to WoW. It's not as polished of a game as WoW in regards to raiding and PvP was almost non-existent (1v1 duels only), but I liked a lot of things about the game irregardless (for one, it was not productive to do anything by youself, so it was a much more social game since you spent a lot of time partying with 3 other people).

My first "3D" and first "Multiplayer Game" is Ughhhhh...... Minecraft. I played my first 3D and MMO in 2010 and it was Minecraft. xD

My first MMO was Ultima Online, and in some regards I still consider it the best MMO I've ever played (in some regards, I consider it terrible). What UO did incredibly well was player interaction and giving players the tools to make their own fun. What UO did poorly was the combat system, which was quite bland. I still wish I could find another MMO with a system that encouraged player interaction to such a degree, but with a better combat system.
The best MMO I've played from a gameplay point of view has to have been Guild Wars (which I played before any of the expansions), though this was mainly due to the PvP aspect. I was in a rather competitive guild, and I really enjoyed the GvG battles. We did in fact break the top 100 guilds in the world line.

So what's your first and/or favorite MMO that you have played.
Mine was Lineage 2: TC 1,5 and I absolutely loved it (though I played at private server), I even have boxed copy of the game :)
Lost ~3 years of life on it, then Kamael happened and after 2 or so major patches I thought that the game lost it's charm.
Later I tried to get hooked up on WoW and other MMO's but it was not the same experience.
With all that said Lineage 2 was my first and still a favorite MMO game, I even think of trying it again but I'm not sure how it would feel after so long + I still need to finish studies, so I can't be a hardcore no-life x)
