How's your country going?
For 10 € we (wife and me) can binge watch anything on demand they have. Beats any kind of cable offer and most other VODs here. Really not a bad deal if you like to watch stuff without ads.

Netflix is still the best legal content provider around here but half of added content is produced by Netflix and 90% of it is not good, some shows are great like Stranger Things but the rest is just meh. Even Okja was supposed to be amazing and it's... a nice movie, cute but nothing more unfortunately.
And there are so many movies removed every week, I won't keep paying for Netflix content only.

I only ever started watchingThe Office this year. I remember hearing about it from multiple people for the longest time, but it just didn't seem like a show I would've enjoyed very much. I even got to meet Rainn Wilson personally at one point, but not having watched the show, I didn't really see it as a big deal at the time. I only knew of him from the memes.
Fast forward to this year and I was crying at the ending. It's my favorite show of all time. I couldn't believe just how amazing the ending for it was. Perfect! :D

I'm kinda stuck on S06, since Netflix is not an option to finish it and I can't find a reliable source since, ahem, torrents are screwed with no seeds at all..But still, I'm looking foward to complete it!

I get Netflix for free (using a friends account), so I think it's good value for no money :)
Never did get the appeal of The Office, not my type of comedy I guess.
NETFLIX original content I quite enjoyed:
Series
Movies
For everything else...

Well, they have never banned a Netflix customer for trying to circumvent region restrictions, but they have very aggressively tried to prevent people from accessing via vpn - they had to sign agreements to that effect. But - some VPN providers try and stay one step ahead, and have to continually manage their infrastructure to allow Netflix to work. Most VPN providers have given up the fight - some are still going strong with NordVPN doing OK at the moment. They can't promise it, and it is not access to Netflix content for all countries - only about 4 or 5 but US is nearly always working.

That is partially why I don't support the service. I think it's incredibly moronic that Netflix is in several countries but does not offer the same services in each location. Some places it may have a show only until a certain season, some places the show isn't there at all, some places you can only get things dubbed instead of being allowed to choose, etc. It's simply not a service worth supporting.

That's not Netflix's fault, that's the thing, when all the contracts were drawn up on who got to air what show, and how it was taken in by mass consumption, it was written by lawyers who could never have imagined something like Netflix, and now that Netflix is what it is, every one and their mother wants to jump aboard that train. Things won't get better until well TV dies, and TV won't die until everyone has high-speed internet is a thing that most people on the planet have. As it is, the VOD market is fracturing with every channel wanting their own VOD demand service, which is shitty for the consumer. Want to watch Game of Thrones? You need HBO go. Want to watch the new Star Trek, you need CBS all access. Want to watch the new show the Runaways? You need Hulu, all this begins to add up. I'm not asking for a monopoly or anything but I can't afford, all these different services. Hulu isn't even in Canada and probably won't come to it. At the end of the day the best way to cull some of these services is to be exceptionally picky, and allow some of these services to die. I'm looking at you Disney VOD.

I know it isn't their fault, but it doesn't mean I'd have to excuse Netflix or any other service for it. I believe bigger part of the problem are licenses as some countries simply can't (or won't due to censorship) get shows that are available in other locations. None of the services available are global, which is why people pirate so much. You want to watch a Thai show but live in Canada? No other way for that person than to go about it illegally since it's the only way you can see it.

I don't really care since my isp sucks and there is no alternative here at the moment.

Why do so many act as if Netflix would be to blame for the complicated nature of the market(s)?
They struggle with that as much as we do and it's the reason why they invest billions in their own content. I'm quite satisfied with Netflix and Prime. I don't get all I want to see right now, but there is always something worth watching. Certainly more than on tv.

I never used it and I never will, but from what I have heard it is shit here. A while back I saw an article about how the first Slovenian movie was released on Netflix and it wasn't even available to watch in Slovenia, I mean common...

I am not looking forward to the day where Netflix is primarily composed of Netflix-produced exclusive content, which is apparently their plan for the future. :/
Obviously they can't force other companies to sell them the right to stream their movies/shows, but Netflix tries to spin every setback as if it's the best thing that ever happened. I find it insulting. No, I do not prefer "curated" rotating content selections, nor do I prefer any amount of awesome exclusive content to having exclusive content and everything I could possibly want to watch.

I'm freaking jealous.
Netflix is for sure affected for laws about content, rights owners and copyright stuff. But one thing that bugs me is that the USA content is so much bigger than other countries. Nothing but contracts/agreements can solve this situation, so I'm just gonna moan about how bad this is.
God, I miss The Office.
