Well unfortunately for me, this guy is now one copy of PES 2016 up. Oh well, I got this as a free copy so whatever lol.

His profile seemed legit especially all the comments on his profile but consider me a noob with the trade market. Think I'll just stick to paying full price for games I want rather than trading from now on.

Would love to call him out but it's against the rules here apparently.

Note that comments on one's Steam profile mean absolutely nothing - you can get friends to give you +reps and such, and most importantly you can simply delete any negative with a single click. For the next time.

you could trade with people that have rep over 50-100 here. that should be mostly safe.

Yeah wish I had known about it earlier, but never mind. It was a free copy from some UK university competition. So I'm at no monetary loss, lol.

Shoulda saw it coming.

Like CrazyTrain says, nothing is free. I'm sure that you have spent some of your time to get that copy.

I'm sorry to hear this but remember that Steam profile rep or comments don't mean a thing as they can easily be abused and misused. Check Steamrep instead like the first poster said!

Sorry to hear that.
If you get "enhanced steam" you can easely find the persons steamgifts/steamtrades profile to see if he has real rep.
Also easely find his steamrep. It adds links on the right side of his steam profile in chrome or firefox.

I actually have it installed, but didn't realise it also had this functionality.

I've actually been scammed the same way too. The user had lots of +rep on his steam profile and I didn't really know about the sites. I thought all the +rep on his steam profile made it trustworthy.. And yeh, got scammed for 20 euros or so. But I learned from it and it won't happen again. :) It made me feel really stupid though. There aren't enough honest people out there...

Yeah I didn't realise those comments could be deleted.

Something to learn for the future. Lets just hope he gets VAC banned lol.

VAC has nothing to do with trading.

Oh I'm aware of that, I'm just hoping his accounts get royally screwed over and he loses everything,

Another week, another topic like this. Well shame but not much besides a rep for future trades can be done.

Yeah I feel such a thread would have helped me avoid such a situation. I mean a sticky with all the precautionary steps one should look into before doing any trade would be great. I didn't even know steamrep even existed until Sergieku above posted it.

I'm new to this whole trading stuff and as a first "trade" being scammed, it's put me off.

Sorry, amigo. Hey, at least you're unlikely to get fooled again now. Think of it like a stinging little vaccination shot.
