I'd go for it. Amnesia is a very good horror game because it builds up tension. There's a setting, you explore, you have questions left unanswered. It's not just jumpy horror. If whoever you show this game to takes the time to play through it, especially with headphones, it'll be more than a blast (and by that I mean a good experience).

Amnesia is scary as hell. And the possibility to peeking through doors (slightly opening them to just take a quick look) + leaning around corners can provide awesome game experiences. Also you can just run through levels ain't giving shit, but is just pointless as going to McDonalds to order a salad.

Its scary as hell, yep, don't let your little bro play it...

It's scary. I'm not easily scared, there are no movies that would scare me and there's just a few video games that'd do the trick but Amnesia did. I always play horror games in a dark room, during night, with blinds on (yes! at night! It's PITCH BLACK!), with headphones on and at night I don't mean like at 8-9PM but rather at 1-2 AM. I'm a horror games veteran and I can assure you - this is a very scary game. Try two first Penumbra games as well - scary too.

Scary? More like scarry. As in, it will scar him for life.

I played the Demo, watched a playthrough. Personally, I don't see it as scary. In fact, I just recently played Cry of Fear, and I wasn't scared. At all. Any scary game can be compared to Amnesia, because the major fear factor there is the monsters that you can't fight back against.

Doesn't one of the monsters in Amnesia scream curses and taunt the player with how he's going to rape them, as well as go into some detail about it?

Scary or not, there are probably slightly more suitable survival horror games.
